Deadpool: The Game Review

Let me just say this upfront: Deadpool is, hands down, my favorite comic book character ever. I absolutely eat up anything he is in. I’ve bought every single comic that he was in for as long as I can remember. So, you can only imagine how excited I was when they announced (a really long time ago) that a video game was in the cards. My brother pre-ordered the game for me for Christmas last year (thanks again, Nick!) and so the countdown began. Thankfully, the game came last week, and I got my Deadpool fix for the week. And boy was it good.

Sequels Better than the Original: Video Game Edition

As a follow up to an article from a few weeks ago, I decided that it would be fun to talk about some more sequels that are better than the original. But this time, instead of doing movies, we are delving into the mysterious world of video games! Making a movie that is better than the original requires some interesting choices, but to make a video game that is better than the original (I think) is pretty straight forward. All you need to do is fix, or improve, the gameplay. I know I make that sound a lot easier than it is, but it is really that simple. Fix the controls to be more natural, or make the story more vast and epic. Below are a list of the games that I think outdid their predecessors in just those ways.

Why the Omega Entertainment Machine Is Awesome

Neo Geo. SNK. These words carry the power to transport you back to a bygone age. The days when Arcade was king. For the uninitiated, the name may not be instantly recognizable, but odds are you’ve played at least one or two Neo Geo games, and you most likely loved every minute of it. Metal Slug. Bust-A-Move. Samurai Shodown. The King of Fighters. Fatal Fury. From across the arcade, the beautiful red cabinet would call out to your quarters. Unfortunately, we now have to admit something to ourselves; It’s 2013. The arcade scene is dead. Your local pizza shop doesn’t have that old Neo Geo cabinet anymore. Your local pizza shop probably doesn’t have any arcade cabinets anymore. So what’s one to do when they wake up in the morning with an irresistible itch to play a round (Or two... or ten) of Windjammers? Well, the folks over at Arcade Works have a solution. And a beautiful solution it is.

Defiance: The Game 9/10

Defiance......  It is a Sci-Fi, third-person shooter as an MMO.  On day one, the servers were absolutely terrible because Trion didn't expect that so many individuals would buy this game.  If i were making a game with online servers, I would make sure that on day one, there would be enough room on the server for every copy of the game that was created and if you didn't need every server, then close some down.  But after a day or two, Trion more than doubled their server, fixing most of the server issues for the Xbox.
